Support Michael Keith's Memorial Journey

Hi I am Kat Smith, oldest daughter of Michael Keith. As you likely know by now, my Dad died suddenly on April 1st 2024. While he had many great qualities, and was loved by most people who knew him, he had a few large flaws. One of these flaws was that he was super generous and proud about money, talked a big game about it, and yet constantly lived outside of his means. It was no surprise to me that he did not have life insurance or failed to make financial arrangements for his end of life care. As a veteran, his wife received some funds from the VA for his memorial service and his initial death costs. However his last remaining wish was to be cremated and to have some of his ashes buried with his parents at Evergreen Memorial Park in East Wenatchee Washington.

My sister, Meghan, his youngest daughter has been the point person for all things related to our dad's death and got a quote that works out to about 6300 hundred dollars. This price includes sprucing up the grandparents head stone and adding a memorial placard as well the cost of the service. The additional funds that I am requesting are for Meghan's travel expenses from Raleigh NC to Washington State, and to reimburse her for some out of pocket expenses she has paid to get my father's horcuxes to myself and other family members. If there is money left over we will donate the funds in his name to a charity he would be proud to support, probably something related to veterans or dogs.

It has taken me several months of avoidance, and one knock down, drag out, dog fight with my therapist to wrap my head around how to even write this gofundme. I love my dad deeply despite having to overcome some of the biggest hurts in my life to keep him in it and would like to help usher him to one of his final resting places.
