Support Michael DeRegis in ICU Battle and Recovery

We are happy to announce that Mike is home from the hospital. He has been discharged and will be aggressively monitored for the foreseeable future. He has a long road to recovery ahead and will still need as much support as possible to help him heal, but he is at least able to cuddle with Kasi in the process. We are beyond grateful for everyone’s unwavering generosity and care as Mike fights for his good health. Thank you and God bless!*

Mike is out of the ICU and in his own room. He is stringing some good days together, eating food, getting out bed, walking, making jokes, and making progress. He is most definitely showing us his strength. The recovery will take time and effort and support in so many ways, but we are real damn proud of how far he’s come from just a few days ago. God bless y’all once again.*

We’re writing this in the deepest hope for your love and support here as our son/brother/friend/chef is in need. Michael DeRegis has been hospitalized in the ICU for a week now due to multi-system organ failure. He has been sedated, paralyzed, and ventilated for the majority of the stay, and is fighting against different acute health emergencies that are challenging his life. Mike isn’t one to ask for money, but his family and friends are coming together to ask for help in his time of need.

As we wait and watch as Mike moves through different treatments and evaluations, the reality of how astronomical these costs may be for him and his family has become undeniable and we are frightened for the effects it will have on his future. We’re calling for community and asking for any and all help here. There is no support that will go unappreciated. There’s no one like Mike. His devotion and his loyalty are more than human. His curiosity and his humor could light up the dimmest moments. His kindness and his compassion can be confusing if you only see his music taste. Mike is stubborn as hell. This resolve and strength makes betting against him a risk, not only because he does not give up until there’s clarity or resolution, but you usually never hear the end of it either. I wouldn’t bet against him now. Please help him if you can.

Mike is a 29 year old young man from Scottsdale, Arizona. He works as the Head Brewer at State 48 Lager House. He’s an Arizona Wildcat. He’s a cat dad to the most playful little Kasi. Hes a son. He’s a boyfriend. He’s a best friend. He’s an incredible cook. He’s a good man.
