Michael David Brown was a beloved son and father who touched the lives of everyone around him. On the way to a doctor appointment, Michael suffered a sudden stroke. When we arrived, I couldn’t wake him, and his doctor rushed out to help. Despite immediate efforts, Michael’s heart had stopped. He was revived and taken to the hospital, but his heart stopped again on the way, and he was placed on a respirator. From that point, he never breathed on his own again. The doctors told us he had suffered massive brain damage. His daughter, just 21 years old, and I had to make the heartbreaking decision to remove the respirator, knowing Michael wouldn’t have wanted to live in such a state. He passed away on March 2, 2026, at the age of 59. Michael grew up surfing in Florida, worked as a cell tower climber, and spent 20 years driving for a trucking company before health problems took over. He faced many surgeries related to pancreas issues, but always tried to help those around him. Since my husband passed last year, Michael had been living with me, doing all he could to support me. His daughter and I are both heartbroken by his loss. Michael did not have a life insurance policy, and as an 83-year-old widow on a fixed income, I simply cannot cover the funeral expenses. We have managed to pay a small portion, but still owe the funeral home. We are hoping to raise enough to cover these costs and, if possible, hold a celebration of life to honor Michael’s memory.
