Support Michael Collard's Battle with Lung Cancer

My name is Michael Collard. I'm 52 years old and fighting stage 4 lung cancer. I was diagnosed in March of 2024. At first, it was stage 3 with a large mass on my right lower lobe, but it was re-diagnosed to stage 4 when spots showed on my liver. Over the last 8 months, I've been through 2 different regimens of chemotherapy and countless blood tests and CT scans. As it stands today, the liver spots are gone, but I've developed 2 spots in my left upper lobe. My oncologist adjusted my chemo meds to a more aggressive treatment, and it is helping destroy the mass, but the symptoms of the chemo are horrible. The expense of over-the-counter meds is astronomical, as many of you know, not to mention the prescriptions. I recently had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital and spent 3 days trying to maintain my O2 levels and BP at a normal rate, adding to my debt.
I know very well I'm not special or the only one in need. There are worse cases out there. I pray daily for everyone battling this awful disease.
I lost my job in July, and because the company I worked for for 25 years treated me like gold, I was lucky enough they paid my COBRA insurance up until December. With no end in sight when I lose my insurance and fight for disability, I'm not sure how I'm going to manage. I'm not married but live with someone, and together we're raising a grandson who is 13.
I've worked since I was 15. I've never been one to ask for help from anyone. Just filling this out has taken a mental toll on me. Pride is not always a good thing.
I'm asking for help. I don't know if anyone will even see this, but I'm trying. If you're able and willing, anything is more appreciated than I could ever express. With the economy and holidays looming, I understand. If you can donate, I will forever be in your debt and pray for you and your family.
The people of this country are a mighty force against anything we choose to battle. I ask for just a little help with mine.
Thank you for reading, and God bless you.
