Michael Cato is an energetic 11-year-old with a huge heart and an unstoppable spirit. Whether he’s practicing martial arts at Ethos, wrestling with his team, adventuring in Boy Scouts, or building the latest Lego creation, Michael is always full of life and curiosity.
This week, Michael and his family received news no one ever wants to hear: he’s been diagnosed with an aggressive form of osteosarcoma—a rare bone cancer. Doctors found a tumor in his femur and spots in his lung. Everything has happened so fast—his diagnosis was confirmed by biopsy, and he’s preparing for surgery to place a chest port and begin treatment by the end of the week.
Michael is one of four amazing siblings—Henry, Thomason, and Gracie—who are all homeschooled and incredibly close. Their days are filled with laughter, learning, and plenty of outdoor adventures. Together, they share a strong bond that reflects the love and strength their parents, Victoria and John, have poured into their family. Victoria shared, “We continue to be blown away by the love God is pouring out on us through all the people reaching out and loving on us. Please continue praying for wisdom, receptivity to treatment, and peace for the family—especially for all the siblings whose worlds have been shaken up.”
As the Catos focus on Michael’s care and healing, they’ll face many unexpected expenses. Your support can ease some of that burden so they can focus on what matters most: helping Michael fight and heal. Let’s rally together around the Cato family—covering them with love, prayers, and support. Every donation, share, and encouraging message matters. Together, we can help lift this incredible family through the challenges ahead and remind them they’re not alone in this fight.
