I am Laura Caldwell, asking for donations to help support my husband Michael Caldwell and me while he receives research, including surgery(s) and treatment to regain blood flow to his brain and vessels.

Michael was diagnosed with a rare brain disease in January of 2024 when he had his second stroke. This disease is called Moya Moya disease, and it causes narrowing of all his blood vessels. There have only been 4,500 documented cases in the US. This is why there is not much study/research for a current fixable surgery.

Michael has been going back and forth to Ohio State University throughout the year for treatment and tests. Ohio State University is the only hospital to work with Michael due to his medical history. Most people know Michael has suffered eight strokes in the last 20 months due to this disease. We decided to move to Ohio in order to be closer to the hospital. I, myself, have suffered a broken wrist from a fall that now needs surgery coming up this month.

With me unable to work at this time, we have almost exhausted all of our savings, and we are asking for anyone able to donate towards our rent and bills during this time to please help as it will mean the world of difference for us!
