Hi everyone,

Our family is facing something we never imagined we would have to endure.

In December 2025, our dad, Michael Brooks, was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. He underwent brain surgery, and his medical team was able to remove nearly all of the tumor. While we are deeply grateful for a successful surgery, glioblastoma requires ongoing, intensive treatment.

Michael is 65 years old and has been married to our mom, Nancy, for 44 years. Together they have built a life rooted in love, service, and family. Our Dad is a former Bossier City firefighter who spent his career protecting others and showing up in moments when people needed help the most. He and our mom are the proud parents of three children and grandparents to five grandchildren, who absolutely adore their "Grumpy and Gigi."

Until this diagnosis, our Dad was active, strong, and fully enjoying life with his family. The symptoms and diagnosis came suddenly and have turned our world upside down, and some unexpected complications during his recovery sent him back to the ICU for an additional 10 days.

Michael is currently in progressive care and will be starting the standard course of chemotherapy and radiation within the next two weeks. His treatment and recovery will require ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, medications, and significant time away from normal work and daily life. While insurance helps, many expenses are not fully covered, including possible travel/lodging for MD Anderson (should he be accepted for outpatient care), medications, therapy, possible clinical trials, and everyday living costs during treatment.

This fundraiser is meant to help ease the financial burden on our mom and dad so they can focus on what matters most: his health, his recovery, and time together as a family.

- Rehabilitation and therapy needs

- Medications and supportive care

- Household and daily living expenses during treatment
