I am Michael's mother, and I am making this GoFundMe account for him and his soon-to-be wife.

On New Year's at approximately 2:00 a.m., they were hit by a drunk driver at 60-plus miles per hour who ran a red light. The driver got out and ran, but the police caught him a short time later. However, he has since bonded out of jail and has probably left the country. He was not the owner of the truck, but the owner is also avoiding the police and accountability.

Michael and Jessica were both injured. Michael had two big gashes on his face, a busted lip, an abrasion on his back, and a concussion that's causing him headaches. Jessica has a broken left foot and a shattered and broken left wrist. She also had a huge gash on top of her head that required staples, and severe pelvic pain with a hematoma.

The insurance company is only paying $11,000 for Michael's car, which he still owed $14,000 on, so he has to pay the difference on a car he can't drive, which means he can't buy a new car until that one's paid off. Not only that, but Jessica learned she needs $3,000 upfront for surgery to fix her wrist.

They just bought their home in September, and they have been taking foster parenting classes so they could foster a little boy that they fell in love with. On top of that, they have a wedding in June that they are also paying for by themselves. They are 24 and 25 years old and need all the help that they can get. I could not think of a more deserving couple than these two. All of this happening right after Christmas.

And the bad part is the guy that hit them and the owner of the truck will probably get off scot-free and never pay for any of this. So if you have anything to donate, we would forever be grateful, but we know that times are hard and we understand if you can't, so please just send prayers for a speedy recovery. Thank you for your time, and I hope you have a blessed day. God bless you all.
