Support Michael Alexis' Journey to Recovery

Dear Friends and Supporters,
My name is Michael Alexis, a proud Boston native and artist. I began my creative journey at Boston Technical High School, where I painted murals across the city and discovered my passion for storytelling through art. That passion stayed with me even as life led me down many paths.
After years of freelance work, I joined Local 7 Ironworkers and spent 28 years building America—working in five states, shaping skylines, and growing as a tradesman. Along the way, I also shared my love for music as a DJ in Boston, New York, and Seattle.
Life brought me to Washington, where I started a family. But just before the pandemic, that relationship ended, and I was separated from my children during an incredibly difficult time. I returned home to Boston in early 2021 and soon became the full-time caregiver for my mother, who was battling both metastatic breast cancer and Alzheimer's. I managed her care while parenting from afar, doing my best to stay strong for everyone.
After her passing in 2022, I remained in Boston to start over. Then, last summer, I suffered a severe injury on the job—herniated discs in my spine that have left me unable to work and currently awaiting corrective surgery.
Today, I find myself in a tough spot—physically, financially, and emotionally—but still standing. I’m reaching out to ask for your support as I navigate this recovery and rebuild my life. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings me one step closer to healing and continuing my journey as a father, artist, and proud member of this community.
These funds are going to be used for paying bills and helping me to stay afloat until these cases are worked out and I can gain a regular stipend for being injured at work!
In fact some donations have already been applied to emergency matters like randomly needing a new cell phone battery in an old phone!
Thank you for reading, and for any help you can offer.
With gratitude,
Michael Alexis
