Hey, I’m Micah! Some of you might know me as Mac, some of you might not know me at all!
I'm a trans man living in the South, and after being out and transitioning for years, top surgery was finally close to becoming a reality for me. Just two weeks after my insurance approved the surgery, the hospital decided that they will no longer allow any gender-affirming surgeries through their facilities. Now my only opportunity to get this surgery done with this surgeon and this year is to pay for it completely out-of-pocket.
This surgery is one I've wanted for years and years, and it would make me feel a lot more comfortable in my own body. And with the way things are currently progressing for trans people in the US, I would feel a lot safer having this surgery done and not burdened by its cost. Anything you can donate would help, and I’m grateful for everyone’s support during this time.
The Cost: I cannot schedule my surgery until I put down a payment of $600. The surgery itself costs $11,956 and is due 2 weeks before the surgery itself. After the surgery, I’ll be unable to work for at least 2 weeks, but preferably longer for my safety. So the goal also factors in funds needed for my recovery period!
