Support Micah's Dream: National Theatre Competition

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our GoFundMe! My name is Katie Weeks, and I am raising funds to support my 16-year-old son, Micah, as he pursues an incredible opportunity to compete at the National Theatre Competition this summer.

This past fall, Micah participated in the State Theatre Competition, where he had the honor of performing a solo musical number and starring as the lead in his school’s one-act performance of Radium Girls. After only a year of formal singing lessons—and a lifetime of passion for acting—Micah’s hard work and talent earned him a spot at Nationals!

Micah has been invited to attend the National Theatre Competition in June, held in Indiana. This week-long event will allow him to hone his skills, connect with other talented performers, and grow as an artist. The cost for Micah alone is $1,500, which does not include travel expenses or the cost of a chaperone to accompany him. Any funds he receives will be used for his registration, room and board, and traveling expenses.

Micah’s journey in theatre began at Elite Dance and Theatre, where he played roles such as a young boy in Dracula and Tiny Tim in A Christmas Carol. Since then, he has truly found his passion and his community in the theatre program at Rio Rancho High School. Alongside his dedication to academics, Micah has poured his heart into every performance and cannot wait to take this next step in his journey.
