Support Micah Jordan
Micah Jordan has dedicated the past 13 years of his life serving others as an ER nurse at Baton Rouge General. Known for his quick wit, compassionate care, and unwavering dedication to his patients, Micah has made a lasting impact on countless lives. He is not only an exceptional nurse, but also a devoted father to his children and a loyal friend to many.
Micah has been a staple in our ED for years. His laughter and jokes have filled our halls and our hearts. If you ever got a weird phone call in the ED…it was micah on the phone behind you smiling from ear to ear. Ever got an embarrassing request from a “patient” on the call light? It was probably Micah in the room before EVS got there calling the station as a prank.
Recently, Micah sought medical care for a persistent headache. After further evaluation and hospitalization, doctors discovered bleeding in his brain. During a craniotomy, a mass was found and removed. While the tumor has been sent for pathology, his surgeon strongly suspects a glioma. We are currently awaiting confirmation and grading, and Micah is expected to begin chemotherapy and radiation treatments in the coming weeks.
Despite this unexpected diagnosis, Micah remains strong, positive, and optimistic. However, he has already been out of work and faces an uncertain road ahead, especially when it comes to the financial burden of treatment and time away from his career.
Now it’s our turn to show up for Micah the way he has always shown up for others.
We are raising funds to help support Micah and his family during this difficult time, allowing him to focus on healing without the added stress of financial strain. Any contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference.
Thank you for standing with Micah.
