Help Support Mia's Needs in Memory of Steve

Donation protected
As most of you know, Steve Woodall passed suddenly last week, and his beloved companion Mia was immediately surrendered to Animal Control. Joleena, Kara, myself, and a few other caring individuals have been working non-stop since Friday evening to get Mia released and into a foster home. It has been a most stressful time the past few days between coordinating with Animal Control (they were closed the past two days), Steve's former roommate, and multiple kind offers of assistance, but we finally made it happen. As of 11am this morning, Mia has been released from Animal Control and is currently in the loving arms of Joleena Somerville, a close friend of Steve's! But, she isn't out of the woods yet, and we need your help. Because of Steve's financial situation, Mia has not had veterinary care in quite some time and has some very concerning medical issues, including many visible lumps on her body, skin problems, and a lack of necessary vaccinations. She is also a senior dog, approximated to be around 13 (possibly older), which brings with it its own set of issues. Joleena is taking Mia to the vet at 2:30pm today to be evaluated, and we know for certain that she is going to need extra veterinary care and overall attention. Animal Control actually brought this to our attention, but we just don't know to what extent the need will be yet. We had several people commenting on the original Facebook posts regarding Mia stating that they would donate towards helping Mia, and we are hoping that many others will as well, out of compassion, kindness, and their love for Steve, who was a good friend to many. Steve would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed or asked for it, even when he himself was going through some extremely tough times.

PLEASE, we are making an urgent plea for donations towards Mia's care! Joleena cannot afford to shoulder the financial responsibility alone, and she shouldn't have to. If you ever loved Steve; if Steve ever loved you; if you were ever blessed to be graced with a smile or word of friendship from Steve; or if you ever hope someone else would do the same for you if this was your beloved pet, then please, please, donate.

All proceeds to pay for Mia's care will go directly to her care, whether it be veterinary needs, medicines, supplements, food, toys, etc.

Thank you to everyone who donates (no amount is too small - it all adds up!) and/or shares this campaign. Please, help us help Mia!

One of the greatest ways that you can honor someone who has passed is to make sure that the pets they leave behind are taken care of. ❤️
