Hi, my name is Nicole, and I am Mia’s cousin.

I am raising funds to help Mia with her medical expenses and household bills as she recovers from a devastating series of health challenges.

Earlier this summer, Mia was bitten by a spider, which tragically turned into necrotizing fasciitis, a life-threatening infection that attacked a large portion of her stomach. She spent over a month in the hospital fighting for her life. Just when we thought she was finally on the road to recovery, she was rushed back after developing massive pulmonary embolisms in her lungs, which caused right-sided heart failure.

Mia underwent another major surgery where doctors placed catheters in her lungs to deliver life-saving blood thinners. She now faces a long recovery and will be on high doses of blood thinners for at least a year. Because of these serious medical issues, Mia is unable to work for the foreseeable future, and doctors expect she’ll be out for at least a year.

With mounting medical bills and the loss of income, the financial strain is overwhelming. Our goal is to ease this burden so Mia can focus on what matters most—her healing.
