Help Support Mia After Tragic Loss
Donation protected
On April 14th, Mia received the unimaginable news: her mother, Heather, unexpectedly died. This unbearable loss comes just one year after her father Troy died following a courageous battle with cancer.
At just 20 years old, Mia has lost both of her parents, and with them, the stability and support system that every young person deserves.
Despite this overwhelming loss, Mia remains a full-time student at Skidmore College in upstate New York, where she’s pursuing a degree in environmental science. She’s passionate about creating a better world – something she’s been dedicated to since childhood. Mia grew up in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin, where she was a member of the Girl Scouts from kindergarten through high school. Her mother served as troop leader the entire time, modeling for Mia the importance of community service. Mia also volunteered at local food banks, collected and donated items to help the homeless, and raised money for local libraries and Ronald McDonald House.
Mia still has two years left at Skidmore, as well as important summer programs that are crucial to her future career. Through her grit and hard work, Mia’s received many scholarships, but they won’t fully cover her expenses. Your donations will help Mia pay tuition, housing, all related school expenses, and provide a smooth transition into a future that holds so much promise.
We are a group of mothers, some of us have known Mia since she was a little girl, some only met her in college. She’s an extraordinary young woman. She’s always shown up for others, and it’s now our turn to show up for her.
We hope you can help. Any donation is greatly appreciated.
