Smoke Break explores the story of a peculiar, reserved man who comes across a lively jazz bar and uses the crowd to conceal evidence of his late-night murderous activities. The protagonist’s plans unravel in a Miami jazz club with vibrant crowds and dark alleyways. The Director, Lisa Maarek, will draw inspiration from her year abroad in Paris, where she studied the film noir genre. As a Miami local, she looks forward to contributing to the city’s culturally explosive art community. To work closely with the Miami community, Red Crows Productions will work in collaboration with Bad Orange Entertainment and FilmGate to showcase this project at local festivals.
