Hi everyone,
My name is Miah Leleua, and this is the most vulnerable thing I’ve ever written…
I’ve always believed that asking for help takes courage. And today, I’m leaning into that courage.
I’m a proud trans woman who has spent years becoming the person I always knew I was on the inside. But no matter how far I’ve come emotionally, spiritually, and mentally, there’s still a deep disconnect between how I feel in my heart and what I see in the mirror. That’s why I’m asking for help to afford facial feminization surgery (FFS) and gender-affirming surgery (SRS).
These aren’t just cosmetic procedures; they are life-saving. They are the final steps in aligning my outside with my truth. Steps I’ve dreamed of for so long, but financially, they’ve always felt just out of reach.
With everything happening in the world, especially the ongoing attacks on trans healthcare, so many of us are being stripped of access to basic gender-affirming care. Policies are changing. Coverage is being denied. Surgeries are being canceled. My only option now is to turn to my community—something I’ve never done before—and ask:
If you can give, anything helps. If you can’t, please share. Every bit of support brings me closer to the day I wake up, look in the mirror, and finally feel whole.
This is about safety. This is about peace. This is about finally seeing the woman I’ve always been, staring back at me with joy, not dysphoria.
Thank you for reading this. Thank you for seeing me.
With love and hope,
Miah Leleua
