I am reaching out to you on behalf of my lifelong friend, Miah, who is in urgent need of support to repair or replace her primary vehicle. Miah’s story is one of resilience, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her family and community.
Miah's Journey:
In May 2021, Miah faced the unimaginable loss of her husband of twenty-one years, leaving her as the sole provider for their six children. Despite this loss, Miah, a devoted public school educator, continued to push forward for the sake of her family.
Education and Work:
- Since her husband’s passing, Miah has earned a Master’s Degree.
- She has taken on extra duties at her school to make ends meet.
- Miah also picked up a second job at Chick-Fil-A.
Family Support:
- Three of her children have taken on jobs to help with household expenses.
- The family worked together to pool their resources and put a new engine into their second vehicle, which is fully paid for.
The Current Challenge:
This summer, Miah’s main vehicle experienced severe electrical issues, with repair costs exceeding $8,000. To add to the challenge, the manufacturer’s warranty expired in May 2023, leaving them without coverage for these repairs. The truck is essential for Miah’s daily responsibilities, from getting to work and taking her kids to their activities, to managing the household.
