Support Mia Taylor's Stroke Recovery Journey
Donation protected
Hello! Our names are Brigit and Isabel. We are doing this go fund me on behalf of our mom Mia Taylor. She is someone who would help anyone with anything she could. She has spent most of her adult life working in schools, doing her best to reach students, offering support, guidance, love, and good humor, she is truly caring and generous in all ways. Now we are asking for the community to help her during this horribly scary time. On the morning of Monday 9/23 she collapsed at a local gas station. She suffered a Subarachnoid hemorrhage a very serious type of stroke that was missed for days by the local hospital. On Friday 9/27 a CT scan was finally ordered and a bleeding aneurysm was found, She was immediately transferred to Baystate Springfield and rushed into the life saving procedure of coiling the aneurysm, the procedure went perfectly but an additional unburst aneurysm was found, which will have to be fixed in the future. All of her medical team say it’s a miracle she’s still with us. After spending weeks in the hospital most of it in ICU she has finally been released. She can’t work or drive for an extended amount of time. She is suffering mobility issues and other symptoms due to the stroke. Before her medical crisis she was informed that her rental house is for sale and she needs to vacate. She needs one story housing due to the mobility issues. The bills are adding up. If you can donate please do. No amount is too small. If you can’t donate please share to spread awareness. She is a light in the world and please help us help her if you can.
UPDATE as of 10/242024: My mom had her follow up with her neurosurgeon this morning, we have increased the amount of funds requested. She will be out of work for at least 9 months perhaps up to a year. There are complications which mean she can’t have other aneurysms repaired it is too risky at this point. The doctor reiterated how lucky we are she survived and may one day feel almost like her old self physically and mentally. One day at a time. And a huge thank you for all the support, donations, sharing and love.
