Support Mia & her family with Jillian's care

Mia is a valued member of staff at RateMyAgent in our ANZ Customer Support team based in Cebu, The Philippines. Mia needs our help to ensure her daughter Jillian who is 16 months old, can get the healthcare that she needs and so that Mia can be with Jillian through this heartbreaking time.

Until one month ago, Jillian was a happy and bright little girl. Jillian became unwell very quickly and has been in hospital, transferred to ICU where she has stayed for the past few weeks. Diagnosing Jillian's illness has taken a long time with many scans and procedures along the way being indefinitive and Jillian's health has only got worse. Jillian's condition has caused her to lose her sight as well as impacting some of her other senses.

Devastatingly Mia was given the news on Tuesday that her daughter who is her world, has stage 4 Neuroblastoma. Jillian is being moved to her own room and will begin chemotherapy soon.

There is no public healthcare in the Philippines which means families have to pay for every inch of care someone needs. Mia does have health insurance but this did not go far with the diagnostic procedures and care Jillian has needed so far so Mia has now applied for government financial assistance, but there is no telling whether it will be successful.

Mia has also not been able to work for the last month already while staying with Jillian and there is no estimation for when Mia will be able to return to her work in RateMyAgent's Customer Support team to provide for her family including her son.
