We are Canela Swingrise, a team of six Mexican women swing dancers.

In 2024, at the International Lindy Hop Championship Latin America, we earned 3rd place in the Team Category, which qualified us for the World Finals.

This July, the ILHC World Finals will take place in Montreal, Canada—and we are deeply excited to be part of it.

For the past three years, we have been building this project together. Through hours of training, rehearsals, and creative exploration, we’ve developed a shared artistic language rooted in swing dance and its history. Our work is inspired by the legacy of chorus lines—by the dancers who came before us and whose energy, precision, and joy continue to shape what we do today.

This project is something we’ve grown with care, commitment, and a lot of love.

Being part of the swing dance community in Mexico has given us so much, and this opportunity feels like a way to share that work beyond our local scene—to connect, learn, and bring new experiences back home.

Several of us are currently working freelance or facing gaps in employment, which makes taking on a project like this both meaningful and financially challenging.

To make this journey possible, we are organizing ourselves, planning every detail, and investing all the time and energy we can. And we would love to invite you to be part of it.
