The R.O.O.T.S. Initiative (Resilient Organic Opportunities for Thriving Systems) helps families transform underutilized yards into productive food-growing spaces. By installing supplemental gardens and providing education, resources, and ongoing support, we empower households to grow their own food, reduce food insecurity, and strengthen local resilience. Through community collaboration, the program creates opportunities for neighbors to share skills, resources, and abundance while building a stronger local food system.
Plots will be able to produce 250-340 lbs of fresh produce which will directly impact our hyper-local community and aid us in our goal of creating a decentralized food system here in ATL .
Roots of Generosity (spin-off) is a youth service program that teaches teens how to grow food, care for the environment, and give back to their community. Participants help install and maintain 10 x 10 ft food-production plots for local families and elders while developing valuable life and leadership skills.
