This past Friday night, (May 22) Mesiah and their brother Elijah were in a serious car wreck. The vehicle was t-boned on the passenger side, where Mesiah took the majority of the impact. Mesiah is now suffering from a broken pelvis in three places, a broken rib, collapsed lung, a laceration to the liver and minor injuries on their face. At this point the doctors are saying they may require surgery. In addition they will need to be on bed rest/in a wheelchair for at least 6 weeks as they recover.
This accident occurred while they were visiting family in California and until they heal they will not be able to return to New York.
If you know Mesiah, you know how deeply and fully they show up for their loved ones, communities, and for the land, and now we're being given an opportunity to show up for, pour into and uplift their precious, sacred life!
Below are some of the priorities we need these funds to cover. Please spread widely and generously, and we encourage folks to make monthly recurring donations if possible:
- A vehicle
- Moving Expenses (they were in the middle of moving out of their home in New York this month, but will be recovering in California while still needing to make arrangements for the move to happen without them)
- Medical Care, Physical Therapy, Equipment, Rehabilitation & Healing
- In-Home Community Support
- Meals, Medicine, & long term recovery

Also! Their birthday is in two weeks (June 7) so we invite you to show them big birthday love in the form of gifts, care packages, and sweet messages of support throughout
Note from Mesiah: “ Hey yall I’m going to be okay! A bit of an unexpected situation but I am here and being present. I am grateful for my life and looking forward to what the stillness and slowdown will teach me. It’s a little of an edge for me to receive and let others care for me but I’m in a state of acceptance and trusting the process. Thank you for your love and support. Shout out to my body, my community, my spirit, and all the prayers”
