On Tuesday the 24th of September, on his way home from work, my oldest son Merritt had an accident on his motorcycle. While decreasing speed in order to stop his bike, he lost all power, leaving him unable to brake or slow down. He hit the back of a truck, taking most of the force to his right side, and ended up under the truck.

Protection and grace surrounded him because without it,that could have been where he took his last breath.

Reports of being alert at the scene gave us all a false sense of relief that he would be home as soon as he was checked out in ER. HOWEVER..

His list of injuries includes a lacerated liver and kidney, a dissected artery that feeds the kidney, broken ribs, pulmonary brusing, adrenal hematom ,a bone exposeing gash on his right elbow and a dislocated shoulder. Some complications have occurred while in the hospital that is slowing his recovery that is already expected to be a lengthy road ahead.

Merritt is the sole provider for his family of six , and this unexpected loss of income is going to be devastating to his family. I've created this gofund me account to help them get through his recovery and focus on his healing until he can return to work.
