If you know Merrilee, you know she is a light. She is the friend who uplifts everyone in the room, the person who gives selflessly, and the kind of soul that makes the world feel a little brighter. Today, that light needs our help. Merrilee was recently diagnosed with aggressive Triple Negative Breast Cancer. The news has been a shock to us all, but if anyone has the strength and sheer determination to kick cancer’s ass, it is Merrilee.
The road to recovery starts immediately. Merrilee begins her chemotherapy treatments this week, and she will be in the clinic every week through at least June. As she fights this battle, she is also balancing the most important job of all: being a single mom to her two beautiful daughters, ages 5 and 7.
We want Merrilee to focus 100% of her energy on healing and being there for her girls. Unfortunately, the financial burden of cancer is immense. We are raising money to cover:
• Medical Expenses & Treatments: Costs not fully covered by insurance.
• Cold Capping: This is a vital priority for Merrilee to help preserve her hair during chemo, but it is an out-of-pocket expense that insurance does not cover.
• Cost of Living: Merrilee will be unable to work full-time during her intensive treatment. We want to ensure her mortgage, utilities, and needs for her daughters are met so she doesn't have the stress of bills over her head.
