Update on Austin: He is home and healing. Learning how to navigate in a new home that is older, so not up to ADA codes. The majority of his injuries are internal, so while the massive external bruising is bad enough to see, it’s more intense inside.
The everyday expenses of living (groceries, utilities and rent) do not pause for recovery like their jobs have had to pause. We are still waiting for the wheels of insurance and justice to turn in our favor but no word yet.
Thank you so much to everyone who has so generously donated to help with their expenses so far!
Having the stress of these needs covered is beyond helpful and we thank our Heavenly Father for each of you!

Merri Dockrey and her husband Austin are facing an incredibly difficult time after a sudden and traumatic accident. While changing a tire on the 121 frontage Road, Austin was struck by a car after debris caused a blowout. The impact left him with a broken knee, several broken ribs, internal bruising, and he required blood transfusions. After being released from the hospital, Austin now has very limited mobility and relies on a walker. He will not be able to work for at least six weeks, and Merri is caring for him full-time, which means she cannot work either.

To make matters even more challenging, Merri and Austin do not have health insurance, and their finances have been stretched thin due to an ongoing move from McKinney to Irving. While the police witnessed the accident and have the information of the driver who hit them, there is no clear timeline for any settlement. In the meantime, they are struggling to cover medical expenses, daily living costs, and essentials. Both are doing their best to stay positive, but the uncertainty and stress are overwhelming.

Susi is reaching out on behalf of Merri and Austin to ask for help from friends, family, and the community. Anything you can give will make a meaningful difference as they recover and wait for answers. Your support will help them cover urgent expenses and give them some peace of mind during this difficult journey. Thank you for considering a gift to help Merri and Austin get through this challenging time.
