Hello everyone,
I am raising funds on behalf of my neighbor and friend, Merle Huffman—a self-employed HVAC technician, husband, father, and grandfather.
In March 2024, Merle was involved in a tragic automobile accident, during which his vehicle caught fire with him inside. The accident left Merle in a medically induced coma for several weeks. His recovery has required numerous surgeries and skin grafts in an effort to save his life and the use of his arms and legs. Unfortunately, Merle’s injuries necessitated the amputation of his right arm and have led to a long journey of physical therapy and rehabilitation. After several months of hard work, Merle was making excellent progress and began walking with the help of a crutch just two weeks ago. He was scheduled to be discharged on November 6. However, Merle developed a severe blood infection that originated in his aorta and spread to his heart, requiring a 13-hour emergency surgery. Merle remains hospitalized at St. Anthony Hospital in the Denver metro area, where he continues to receive critical medical care.
Despite the extensive treatments, doctors caution that Merle’s recovery will be a prolonged and uncertain process. However, his spirits remain strong, and he finds constant comfort in the support of his family, even after spending the past eight months in the hospital.
Every dollar donated will go directly toward covering Merle’s extensive medical expenses, ongoing care, and helping his family manage their essential costs while Merle remains hospitalized and unable to work. Your support will be instrumental in alleviating their financial burden during this challenging time.
Please consider making a donation through the link below, or help by sharing this fundraiser with your network. Your generosity will make a profound difference in Merle’s recovery journey and help provide stability for his family.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and support. We will keep you updated on Merle’s progress and the impact of your contributions.
