Hello! My name is Merin Blake and I am a 14 years old life-long outdoors enthusiast. I love swimming in Lake Champlain, exploring the trails in Red Rocks Park and just sitting in my backyard observing wildlife. It is because of my love of nature that I know I will eventually pursue a environmental-related career, be it journalism, researcher or NGO work.

This summer, I have the chance to expand my environmental horizons by participating in a 3-week service-learning trip in the British Virgin Islands. The program attracts teens from around the world and focuses on environmental science, wildlife conservation, and marine restoration. It's an amazing opportunity to learn from field experts, connect with peers with similar interests, and do some hands-on work.
