Dear family, friends and listeners,
I’ve always been an open book but also try not to post too much on social media about private events in my life. I’m posting to bring awareness and to ask for your assistance. My girls and I have had a tough few years. I was unemployed for the bulk of 2023-2024 and finally started working again for 2 amazing companies this summer. Now I’ve been hired by a 3rd amazing company to start next week. All part time, all independent contractor. All 3 are wonderful and supportive and I’m so lucky.
To all of you (especially women)…. Know your bodies and go with gut feelings! It may save your life. About 2 weeks ago, I got a biopsy and last week received the news that I have a decent size area of pre cancer that is not a good kind and is spreading and advancing pretty quickly and is already deep in my tissue. They did a test and it’s spreading quickly. This will require me having a very invasive surgery in exactly 1 month. It’s a surgery that I am not excited about and pretty upset over. Only my close friends and a few co workers know the details and those shall remain private. I don’t know anyone who has had this surgery!
The recovery for this is 2-4 weeks. I don’t have family to help me and so my amazing girlfriends will be saving the day and helping me during and after surgery. I have the best friends and I cannot thank them enough. Plus my daughters will help when they are out of school. Yachties, do not worry! I will be creating some amazing shows ahead of my surgery so we can continue to sail through my recovery! The Yacht Club never stops sailing! Since I am an independent contractor, I will have no income during this recovery period and since I’m just getting back to an ok place after being unemployed for way too long this will now cause hardship for me and my girls. I hate asking people for things and even posting this makes me cringe but this is a major bump in the road for us! So, if I’ve ever brought a smile to your face with music , made you laugh with a Georgie and Louie Video or you just want to help a little, I would so greatly appreciate it. I just want to make sure I can pay our bills, hire someone to come help clean, hire a dog walker since I cannot take Georgie and Louie out for several weeks and also buy groceries and dog food etc. I appreciate any help. I’m trying to stay positive and I just wanted to bring awareness to KNOW YOUR BODY and if 1 doctor doesn’t satisfy your need for answers and testing, go to another one! I’m thankful that I trusted my gut on this. Luckily I have a great doctor and she will be thoroughly testing this area to make sure I am cancer free. Fingers crossed. Love you guys!
