Support Meredith's Battle Against Anemia

Donation protected
**Update 5/31**: I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to any friends who donated to Meredith! Meredith has shown amazing signs of improvement since her second blood transfusion! She has more energy, and is back to a normal eating schedule! Unfortunately, a couple weeks ago, she had a bone marrow/blood test That cost $400. This was to see if the medication is actually going into her bones, and producing the red blood cells. This test came back negative. With this information, our main veterinarian has run out of all options and we have moved to a specialist. After calling all over OC to find an available appointment (four locations were booked until July) we booked one for June 2nd. We requested a different bone marrow test, and will have to update her medications.
We are praying intently and Meredith is being so strong. Please consider donating if you’re in the position to. This app is not looking like it is going to be cheap. And we’re still trying to catch up from the last two transfusions. Thank you in advance and thank you for your time!!

If you’ve ever met me, you’ve heard about my kitty, Meredith Grey. And if you’ve been even luckier, you’ve gotten to meet her. She is my best friend, my moo city and means everything to me. She was diagnosed about a month ago with positive supporting autoimmune hemolytic anemia. After one blood transfusion, she was put one a daily steroid to try to keep her red blood cell percentage up. (She was at a 2% and it supposed to be at a 39%). The steroids weren’t enough, so she was prescribed a liquid antibiotic and also liquid iron, along with the 1.5 pill of steroid, twice a day.
She looked like she was improving, but after her blood was tested on 5/14, she is back down to 12%. She needs to endure another blood transfusion. (alone, this is just under $3000). She will receive IVs over two days, injected steroids, oxygen, the blood from donor cat, overnight hospital stay, and medications. We need to get her stable again and then start her on a chemo treatment plan.
Even though this is not cancer, is it’s an autoimmune disease and needs to be treated as such.
This medication is supposed to help her body stop attacking the red blood cells, and get her back to normal.
With the amount of medication, and now her needing another blood transfusion, I am in need of help to support my kitty and keep her alive.
Only with the help of family, and God was I able to pay for everything so far.
I am so grateful for Meredith. She has saved my life countless times, and I can’t begin to explain how much she means to me. I hope she means half ans much to you, and you can help Moo City.. Anything helps us, and it’s appreciated.
