On a Tuesday morning in late October, a mother received a call all parents fear; her daughter was rushed to the hospital, and the outlook was not good.

Linda Abigail "Abbye" Aaron was a beautiful, funny, and vibrant young adult who left this world far too soon, leaving behind her one year-old daughter Tori, and a family who loved her.

My name is Tawny, and I’m writing this on behalf of my dear friend and roommate, Meredith — or as her loved ones know her, Big Love. Meredith is not only grieving the unimaginable loss of her daughter, but also facing the financial challenges that come with funeral costs, time away from work, and ongoing expenses while she navigates this heartbreak.

This fundraiser will help ease that burden so Meredith can focus on mourning, healing, and being there for little Tori — who carries so much of Abbye’s light and laughter.

While I only met Abbye a few times and may not be the best for telling her story, I hope others will help write the stories they have of her, because each story is like a Lego piece or a jigsaw puzzle that will build the parts and pieces of who Abbye was and what she meant to all who knew her.

I'm a little biased as I am Meredith's roommate, but because I see how great of a soul she has, I feel Abbye had just as much of that light within her. She came across as so young and full of life, but at the same time, it felt like she’d already seen and understood so much more than someone her age should have. I also see how much she was loved by her mother through the stories and tears I've heard and seen, and how much she meant to other people I've had the fortune to be around lately.

It breaks my heart to know these people are feeling this type of loss. But I think, and I hope, that they feel some peace knowing Abbye still lives on, not only through her daughter and family, but also the lives she helped saved.
