Those of you who know me will appreciate that I have never been very good at asking for help. "Helping out" has always been my calling in life. But here I am now asking friends, family, and caring souls to help my beautiful, wonderful daughter, Meredith Gonzales, in a time of great need.

Meredith was recently diagnosed with breast cancer that led to a double mastectomy followed by chemo and radiation. It seems the chemo has done more harm than good. Tonight she is back in surgery to deal with collateral damage to her stomach and bowel. The surgery will remove part of her stomach and a portion of her intestines, resulting in a colostomy procedure that she will have to deal with throughout the rest of her chemo and radiation therapy. Meredith is such a brave soul! She has a commando-level fighting spirit. Her glass is always more than half full even when times are tough. This health crisis has really set her back physically, emotionally, and financially. I am calling in the friends and family "cavalry" to help pull her through this crisis.

As hard as it is for me to ask, I'm going to swallow my pride and do just that. Please help if you can!

I am personally doing what I can, as will Meredith's husband, Steven. Sadly, that won't be enough.

Times are tough all around, so if you aren't able to donate, then your prayers for her healing and recovery will be greatly appreciated as well.
