We are devastated. Our Community has been darkened. MIAC has been a pillar in the Mercer Island Community for over 5 years. Offering a place of fitness, acceptance and motivation.
Owner Ginny Pietila, a leader in the Mercer Island Fitness Community for over 26 years continues to give her heart and soul to MIAC and Mercer Island. Ginny and her husband Brad have lived on Mercer Island for 21 years and continue to raise their daughter Mimi here.
MIAC has been awarded MI Business of the Year, we support MIYFS through many different channels, we support MIHS sports teams and booster clubs, we employ over 15 MIHS students, WE LOVE MERCER ISLAND!
We were forced to close on March 16th. We have been negotiating with our Landlord for some level of rent relief only to be told NO. We have applied for SBA loans and COVID Relief packages . . . nothing has come through yet. It is humbling to ask for help. But here we are.
We are committed to continue to support our Team. Without our Team, we are an empty shell. Our Team works hard. Our Team gets up before the sun, puts in long hours supporting our amazing clients. Our Team celebrates each other's successes and supports each other in times of need. Our Team is our Family.
Rent, utilities, salaries, commissions, taxes . . . they all must be paid and the clock simply continues to tick.
The tears have been shed, followed by resiliency and resolution to ride this roller coaster to the end. The unknowns are the hardest. When will we be allowed to open again, when will the economy be strong enough to support small, locally owned businesses? Ugh, we know you get it. We try to find the silver linings every day, we continue to provide FREE online workouts for anyone in the world, but the stress of the unknown continues to creep in.
Our hearts are broken for everyone that has been torn apart by this virus. Yet we have hope. Hope that we will be together again, hope that we all come out of this stronger with greater awareness of what is really important. Human interaction, human touch, hugs and hope.
GoFundMe is offering a matching grant to small businesses effected by COVID-19 closures. We are hoping to meet that donation goal to be considered for this additional #SmallBusinessRelief
