MS MESSED WITH THE WRONG GIRL!!!!!!!

Hello Everyone!!!!! My name is Mercedes, I'm a 44-year-old single mother of two and I was diagnosed with Relapsing-remitting Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in December 2019. MS is an autoimmune disease that attacks the Central Nervous System (brain and spinal cord) and disrupts the flow of information within and between the brain and body.

Although MS affects millions, no person's symptoms are the same.

When my symptoms first presented I thought I had a pinched nerve from doing an exercise incorrectly. I first noticed numbness and tingling in my left arm. After a while, I slowly started to notice that the pain was also in my right arm and eventually my entire upper body. When I went to my doctor and explained what I was feeling she told me what I was feeling wasn't possible. Needless to say, I was furious!!!!! When she finally decided to listen and order the MRI I requested to have, that's when it was discovered that I had lesions on my brain, cervical, and thoracic spinal cord. My symptoms include extreme fatigue, muscle spasms, MS Hug (respiratory muscle weakness), heat intolerance, numbness/tingling, walking difficulty, cognitive difficulty, etc.

In February of this year I decided to give my system a little bit of a rest and went on short-term disability due to worsening symptoms. After seeing my neurologist he said that it was best that I didn't return to work because of the stress that working and caring for my children was having on my body. I have started to process and applied disability through the state with the assistance of an attorney. Unfortunately, this process can take up to 2 years and I am in need of help. My wonderful family helps whenever possible whether its financial or with the children but even they fall on tough times. Any amount donated or words of wisdom are greatly appreciated!!!!!!
