Support Mental Health and Dental Treatment for Teen

Dear friends and community,

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support in raising $15,000 for my younger cousin Alvin (16), who is facing an incredibly difficult time. Over the past few years, he’s been battling severe mental health issues, including crippling anxiety, suicidal thoughts, isolation, and sleep insomnia. Another factor worsening his mental health is having braces for over 5 years since we have not been able to afford to continue treatment or remove them. His condition has worsened to the point where he is too weak to eat, suffering from sleep deprivation, and losing weight at an alarming rate. We fear that he may be experiencing psychosis.

He’s been in and out of hospitals, but finding the appropriate care has been a struggle, especially living in Kentucky, where access to quality mental health and dental care is limited and expensive. The lack of free healthcare has made it even harder to get him the help he urgently needs. This situation has taken a toll on him, his family, and even strained relationships within our family.

We are asking for your support to help cover the costs of the specialized care he deserves. We would be using all proceeds towards removing his current braces and continuing treatment as well to cover therapy sessions medications and psychiatric consultations.
