Hello, I’m Dennis Wholey, currently the host of the weekly television series, THIS IS AMERICA & THE WORLD, distributed to PBS stations and other media outlets.
These are difficult times for all of us and I’m asking for your help.
I’ve set up this GoFundMe campaign to produce an exciting new multi-media series that will change and save lives.
The series is called, THE COURAGE TO CHANGE.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Today, we face a massive mental health crisis that is affecting millions. From anxiety and depression to PTSD, addiction, and loneliness, we all know someone who is struggling.
IT IS PERSONAL
Some years ago, I wrote a book called, The Courage to Change: Personal Conversations about Alcoholism, which spent 5½ months on the New York Times bestseller list, was translated into a dozen languages, and sold hundreds of thousands of copies. More importantly, it confronted the stigma around addictions and gave hope to those who were struggling.
I want to continue that effort today through this new project. Like the book, this series will feature compassionate conversations with those living through these challenges, and those working to solve them.
ABOUT THE SERIES
THE COURAGE TO CHANGE will be distributed to PBS stations, YouTube, podcasts, radio, and all major social media platforms, with a mission to offer hope, help, and solutions to hurting individuals, their families, friends and co-workers.
Here are the basic details.
THE COURAGE TO CHANGE
• Weekly TV series focused on mental health, addictions, solutions, and recovery
• Multi-media outreach: PBS stations, YouTube, podcast, radio, social media
• Distribution: 52 half-hour programs
• Target: 150 stations / Launch: Fall 2025
• Seasoned Production Team of THIS IS AMERICA & THE WORLD
• Format: One-on-one VIP interviews, personal stories, medical and counseling expertise and group discussions

Our goal is to begin production in the fall, and our own fundraising is now underway, which is why we are opening this campaign to the public – to you.
