Heyyyy
I’m Menna, a rising senior from Upper Egypt, chemistry and research enthusiast, with a dream of studying in the U.S.
Despite facing social and financial challenges, I’ve worked hard to make the most of every opportunity. At just 14, I qualified for the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) and traveled with a scholarship from USAID. Over the past three years, I’ve dedicated myself to creating change in my community and giving back in every way I can.
I’ve volunteered in local charities, tutored English, and worked part-time jobs since 10th grade. I even launched my own initiative to raise awareness about girls’ rights, education, and FGM — which still happens in my area. I also taught myself coding, which helped me land a front-end development internship at Vodafone Egypt.
This fall, I’ll be applying to U.S. universities that offer scholarships and financial aid to international students. I’ll also be the first in my family to apply to college — and I believe that education in the U.S. will broaden my horizons in ways I could never imagine. But even with these opportunities, there are application-related costs I simply can’t afford — including SAT or Duolingo registration, document translations, and educational resources I couldn’t access earlier due to financial barriers.
I truly believe that education is the key to transforming my future and bringing me closer to my dreams to help underprivileged girls as I always hope.
Your support — whether through a donation or a share — means the world to me and will bring me one step closer to the dream I’ve worked so hard for.
Thank you for believing in young people like me.
With love and hope,
Menna
