Support Katie Lundy on a Medical Mission with Mending Faces

Dear friends, family and coworkers,

In February 2026, I will be a volunteer on a Mending Faces Medical Mission to the Philippines to provide life changing cleft lip and palate procedures for children.

I am raising money to help cover the cost of my trip and would love your support. Your donation will cover my airfare, hotel and some meals. This will be my first Medical Mission and I’m excited to utilize my skill set to help change so many kids’ lives.

Like many in healthcare, I’ve felt the burnout and the weight of the routine. For me, this mission is more than just donating my skills as a physician assistant and helping adorable children. It’s about rediscovering why I chose this path in the first place – To serve others with compassion, to be present in the moments of real human need and to make a lasting impact where it matters most.

Each surgery that Mending Faces provides is a gift of hope and transformation for children and their families. Children born with a cleft palate or lip experience many disadvantages such as issues feeding and getting proper nutrition, constant upper respiratory tract and sinus infections, difficulties speaking properly and self-esteem issues.

Your support will help us to provide life-changing clef lip and palate surgeries free of charge, giving children the opportunity to live a healthy and productive life. For children born with a cleft palate/lip, these procedures can mean the difference between a life of isolation and one filled with opportunity.

Since 2010, Mending Faces has completed 20 Medical Missions, and provided more than 1,000 children the gift of a new smile. The most recent Medical Missions were in Binan, Philippines in Sept. 2024, where 38 children received transformative clef lip/palate surgeries and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in May 2025, where 47 children were gifted with new smiles. Our upcoming Kalibo, Philippines Medical Mission is in Feb. 2026 and the team is already ordering supplies and recruiting patients.
