Support Memory and Funeral Expenses of Cihat Uyat
Donation protected
Cihat Uyat, baba and husband, passed away unexpectedly after a severe stroke. We did not get to say goodbye to him while he was awake. Please help us honor him and support our family and his legacy by contributing generously to the cost of his final chapter.
A note from Cihat’s youngest child, Dennis:
Dear community,
My baba passed away on March 18th following a severe stroke; he was 72. He was the first in my family to pass away in the U.S. My family and I are absolutely devastated, as two days before his coma he had just finished changing the brakes of the family car.
He was truly one of a kind. He loved telling stories of his life growing up in Turkey, and the struggles he faced as an immigrant in the U.S. He was always doing things with his hands; he played guitar, made model boats, and even his own marionettes. He loved music – anything from the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Chicago, Pink Floyd, to Dave Brubeck and all that jazz, and trans Turkish artists like Bülent Ersoy, Zeki Muren, and MFÖ.
We are raising money to assist with the funeral costs as we deal with this loss. My family and I would like to give him a burial at the beautiful Rose Hills Cemetery. The casket, vault, burial, and mortuary costs total out to around $25,000. If you have the means to donate $5 or $10, any bit will go a long way.
I’m confident the funeral and burial plans we’ve chosen are in harmony with our family and my baba. Thank you for everyone’s words of support, and love for our family during this most difficult time.
In mourning,
Dennis Uyat
