Memorial Support for Sarah Santoro
Donation protected
On April 7th, Christie Santoro abruptly lost the love of their life, Sarah Santoro, due to an unexpected complication from surgery. This extremely sudden and unfortunate loss has been devastating and paralyzing. We are starting a gofundme on behalf of Christie to help with costs of memorial services, additional expenses, and navigating the future uncertainties. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Christie wanted to share this letter that they wrote for Sarah:
Dear Sarah,
The magnolia tree definitely didn’t blossom as beautifully this year.
It’s been 22 days without you. I’ve completed 20 puzzles in your honor, and I just got more. It’s not just me though, so many people stopped by to help when I want to give up.
I have had to make a lot of decisions about your body in this past month. There have been many dark moments like when I had to choose photos of your smile and tattoos to confirm your body was being transferred to the funeral home, don’t worry you looked cute in everything I sent. The finality of that broke me because I hear your laugh around the smiles and I see the giddiness when you showed off your tattoos, especially the ones that match mine. It hurts that those moments are gone and instead used to identify you because you’ve lost your voice.
While I have made decisions about your body, there are so many more to make about your services. I wish you were here to be my sounding board, you were the best listener and problem solver. I know for a fact you would be the perfect person to get me through this, it hurts so much to not have you for this.
I may or may not have purchased a ghost shaped cookie jar to put you in for now, to match our tattoos. I know you’ll think that’s so ironic/ morbid/ funny but it’s so you. I look forward to having you back my stinky raccoon.
I still have a lot of questions for you. Are you still with me? Why does your car hate to start? Am I doing okay honoring you?
Miss you,
Love bug/ tortuguita
