My husband, Melvin Jack, Sr., passed away unexpectedly after what seemed to be a successful surgery. His loss has left our family heartbroken and facing many challenges as we navigate the days ahead.

Melvin was a loving husband, father, employee at Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston, and an honorably discharged Veteran of the Army due to service-connected disabilities. His dedication to his family and his country was unwavering, and his sudden passing has changed our lives forever. We are now faced with the difficult task of planning his funeral and making sure our children are cared for during this time. The financial burden is overwhelming, especially as we wait for the lengthy and complicated process to pay out the benefits we are entitled to.

The funds raised will help cover funeral expenses and provide three months of estimated expenses for me and our children.
