Today my sweetheart of a cat Melon… had to undergo emergency surgery after ingesting long elastic string that became curled and lodged in her stomach.

Unfortunately, this is something that could not pass on its own and surgery was the only safe option.

I’m incredibly grateful that it was caught before it reached her intestines, which could have caused much more serious damage. She is currently in surgery, and we’re hopeful for a smooth recovery.

The total cost for her emergency care and surgery is approximately $2,200, which was completely unexpected. I have already prepaid $1,450.

Any contribution, even just sharing this- truly helps and means more than I can put into words. Melon is such a sweet cat, and I rescued her when she was just a baby.
