After seven years of being in remission from synchronous ovarian and uterine cancer, Melody Martin was diagnosed on August 5, 2024, with Stage 3 Metastatic Breast Cancer with Lymphatic and Vascular Invasion. In just a few short months, she has undergone extensive testing and two major surgeries: a bilateral mastectomy and a re-excision surgery after cancerous tissue was found post-operatively. These procedures alone have left her with extensive personal medical debt, and the road ahead is daunting.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the urgent and heartbreaking journey of Melody, a remarkable woman whose strength, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family and community have defined her life. Melody, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and co-worker, has touched countless lives with her kindness, love, and selflessness. Now, she faces a battle no one should endure twice.

Melody is now preparing for 12 weeks of aggressive chemotherapy, followed by 33 sessions of radiation therapy. After these grueling treatments, she will face three additional surgeries: two reconstructive procedures and one to address a tumor recently discovered in her right hip. This journey is not just physically and emotionally taxing—it is financially devastating.

Cancer treatment is overwhelmingly expensive, and the mounting medical bills are becoming an unbearable burden. Melody has always been the heart of her family and community, putting her all into every relationship and endeavor. Now, it is our turn to rally around her in her time of need.
