Hello! As most know I am Bernie's wife and Savana and KK's mama, Melody. In 2019 while driving to work I had a forceful sneeze that I kinda held in as most do and it resulted in 5 ruptured disks in my lower back all the way down to my sacrum. I was forced to resign from my job which resulted in terminating my insurance that day. My job was our main source of income at the time. From that point on Bernie has stepped up and taken all of the weight of the household, getting both girls out of high school and all the way through college, covering all of the bills, burying 3 of our parents and his grandmother and doing it all like the rock star he is. I have applied for disability 3 times and have been denied because I do not go to a pain clinic or take pain pills. In 2020 I was diagnosed with glaucoma and have been struggling since then to get and keep my eye pressures under control with visits to the eye doc every 3 to 6 months, 2 eye drops 3 times a day and God has given us the ability to afford this when needed. On April 10th I was having a "bad eye day" with my right eye not focusing and watering badly for 3 days. With no insurance I waited a week and within the week I had lost my sight completely in my right eye. I was diagnosed with a cataract that has made me super sensitive to light and unable to see.

I can't drive, no depth perception, have burned myself, almost cut the tips of my fingers while cooking, and hit the wall with my shoulder until it hurts.

I can get my eye repaired with a new lens and a procedure to help with my pressure in that eye with your help, support, and generosity. Yesterday I had a consultation and was given an estimate for surgery and I will need new glasses after I heal.
