My daughter Melody Rose, who is just 19, has been diagnosed with Papillary Carcinoma Thyroid Cancer. The news has left me in shock, and it’s been hard to accept that she’s facing such a serious illness at such a young age. The doctors here have told us that the nodule is attached to a major artery, making it too risky for them to attempt removal locally. Because of this, Melody needs to receive treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, which is one of the best places for her care.
We were not prepared for this sudden turn in our lives. The costs of traveling back and forth to Houston, staying in hotels, and missing work are overwhelming. On top of that, we don’t even have a dependable vehicle to make the many trips that will be required for her treatment. Every day brings new worries about how we’ll manage all of this, but I know that Melody’s health and recovery have to come first.
I am reaching out to friends, family, and anyone who feels moved to help us during this difficult time. Your support will go directly toward Melody’s medical journey—helping with travel, lodging, and making sure we can get her to the care she needs. I am praying for her successful recovery and leaving this in God’s hands, hoping for the best. Thank you for any help you can give, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing our story.
