Support Melody on Mexico Border Ministry Trip

I am so thankful I finally made it to my last semester at Moody Bible Institute in Bible/Intercultural Studies. Praise the Lord! During my time at Moody, God continued to grow my heart for missions, which led me to continue learning Spanish and do a cross-cultural internship in Hispanic ministry last summer. Now God is calling me to the next step in my missionary journey to see the needs around me and share the love of Christ with immigrants while I am still in the U.S.. Coming from an immigrant background myself, my heart is drawn to sharing the gospel with other immigrants, especially those who are fleeing violence, poverty, and other harsh circumstances. Christians should be prepared and understand where they are coming from, so that we can lead them to Christ.
When I heard that Moody’s ministry department was organizing a trip to the US/Mexico border, I felt a call to go. During this trip, our team will meet with migrants, the local church, non-profit leaders, and border patrol to learn how we as Christians are invited to respond to the immigration crisis. We will also visit the Migrant Resource Center and a Migrant shelter that provides basic humanitarian aid to those who are deported. We will also be learning about the harsh realities that migrants and asylum seekers face while on their journey. The point of this trip is to gain a deeper understanding to better love those affected, advocate for truth about the situation, and promote a faithful, loving perspective back home.
However, I cannot go without your support. The whole trip will cost $1,800, which will cover all travel, lodging and food expenses. Your support means more than you know, as it allows you to essentially join in on this ministry. By supporting me financially, you are supporting a much bigger picture and are playing just as active of a role as I am. Would you prayerfully consider partnering with me in this journey?
Aside from financial support, I am asking for committed prayer support. Prayers for protection, humility, empathy, and compassion would be greatly appreciated and are crucially needed.
