Happy New Year! A little update on Melody’s courageous journey. Stage 4 GBM has presented itself with numerous challenges and though she is a warrior, she is very tired. Mel is in aggressive treatment which requires her to have daily chemo and radiation treatment. She will do six weeks of this protocol, four weeks off and then re-scan. We pray this will have a profound effect on the beast in her head and we will continue the fight with two new chemotherapy drugs added. As many of you know she was able to fulfill a dream and open a salon with her best friend Kerri-Ann. It’s been quite a success but unfortunately this diagnosis has taken her away from her job causing much stress and financial hardships on both her and her husband Elisha. He has missed quite a bit of work to be by her side and getting her to and from treatment as this has made it difficult for Melody to drive because of some problems with her peripheral vision. Now with her immune system compromised it’s hard to work with the public and stay safe from germs. We have the Go Fund Me to try to alleviate some of the stressors and help ease some of the financial burden so Melody can rest and take care of herself, concentrate on getting better or giving her the ability to enjoy her time with family and friends. Anything helps and if anything just hitting the share button means everything. This family has already been through so much losing their son Aydan to cancer and now Mikaela is watching her mother suffer. Enough is enough. She is a warrior and will continue to fight and just pray. The power of prayer is everything!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to read our update.
