Hey Everyone,

I’m Melody and I’m raising funds to participate in the University of Pennsylvania Ortner Center’s Executive Program in Social Impact Strategy: Ending Violence and Abuse in Relationships.

I know it’s a mouthful but to summarize: I want to learn the skills, knowledge, and techniques necessary to help women free themselves from harmful and violent relationships.

Why?

One, so many women suffer in silence. They don’t know how to leave or even why they should leave their abusers.

Two, there is a gap missing in the services many communities offer women looking to leave abusive and violent relationships.

And, three. I was that woman! I didn’t tell my family and friends the depth of the abuse I was enduring. When I finally sought help there were still things I had to go through alone.

So, I’m asking for your help.

Throughout this journey, I will share my experience on my website and social media channels. You’ll directly see where your donation is going.

What does the $6000 pay for? Tuition for the program totals $4,950. A $500 deposit is due by December 10. There is a convening the week of February 25 in Philadelphia. The remaining balance pays for flight and hotel accommodations. I live in North Carolina.
