Melodie Morgan has been my friend from Real Life Bible study since I moved to Idaho in 2021. She is passionate about God and family, and is one of the kindest, most caring people I know. Melodie has always been there for others, offering her support and humble heart to anyone in need. She never wanted to ask for help, but right now, she’s facing a challenge she can’t overcome alone.
Recently, Melodie received news that no one wants to hear. After biopsies and imaging, doctors found pre-cancerous cells in her breast. Because she already has a very high genetic risk for breast cancer—her mom and older sister have both battled the disease—her doctors strongly recommended surgery to remove these areas before they have the chance to turn into cancer. Even though she doesn’t currently have a cancer diagnosis, this isn’t something she can safely “wait and see” on. Her surgeries are scheduled for April 22 and May 15, and she’s doing her best to prepare in every way she can.
One of the hardest parts of this journey has been the financial side. Melodie doesn’t have medical insurance through her job, which means she’s responsible for the full cost of care. This includes two surgeries, anesthesiology, pathology, and radiology. The funds raised will go directly to pay for her surgery and all related medical bills. Asking for help doesn’t come easily to Melodie, but she’s realizing she can’t do this alone. If you feel led to support her, she would be incredibly grateful.
