Support Deputy Marshal Melissa in Her Time of Need

On Friday, June 6, 2025, Melissa — a dedicated Deputy Marshal with the Jackson Marshals Office — suffered a serious heart attack while off duty. She has since undergone an emergency quadruple bypass surgery and now faces a long and challenging road to recovery.

Melissa is a single mother and the sole provider for her family. Because she is relatively new to the department, her available leave time is extremely limited. She also does not have supplemental insurance to help cover the loss of income during this period.

Doctors estimate Melissa will be unable to return to work for six months or more, meaning she and her family are now facing a sudden and overwhelming financial burden.
